Introduction
I am a student at Gonzaga University in the process of completing my Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. My experience in the program over the past year and a half took place from South Florida where I have lived since high school, when my family relocated from Puerto Rico. Currently, I serve a wonderful team at a pediatric hospital as their Director of Nursing for Inpatient Services. I have worked in various types of nursing over the years inclusive of critical care and emergency services, so my cultural and professional backgrounds have shaped a diverse life experience.
My interest in pursuing an advanced professional development surfaced initially as part of my contribution to the organizational preparation toward Magnet designation. As I researched Masters programs available to me, I discovered the Organizational Leadership option at Gonzaga and never looked back. These past months have been challenging, inspiring, and life changing. I allowed myself to be creative and cultivated the passion I have for helping others succeed. I learned new ways to evaluate my environment and found new communication techniques. I traveled alone for the first time in many years and saw the Rockies for the first time.
Each day I participated in the program and every course I completed over time informed my desire to be the best leader I can be and highlighted the powerful interconnection between leaders to any given situation. The ORGL program has shaped a better understanding of myself, acceptance of my own developing competencies, and appreciation for the strengths within me that I may often take for granted.
My hope is that what I share via this portfolio
successfully conveys my experience to date.
Thank you for your interest in my profile.
